Snap-on implant dentures are about $366 to $625 a month and All-on-X full arch about $610 to $1,042 a month. Key takeaways

Do

  • Ask what is included in every quote
  • Get a 3D scan before deciding
  • Compare the total cost, not the starting price
  • Ask about monthly payments

Don't

  • Choose on the lowest advertised price alone
  • Assume insurance won't help
  • Wait years after losing a tooth, since bone loss can add cost

What do dental implants cost in Orange County?

Most offices advertise a single starting price. We show an estimated monthly payment instead, because that is how most of our patients plan for treatment and also makes high quality care affordable. The table shows our estimates, as published on our Dental Implants page.

TreatmentEstimated monthly paymentWhat it includes
Single tooth implant$86 to $146 a month per toothImplant, abutment and crown (extraction and bone graft quoted separately)
Snap-on implant dentures$366 to $625 a month per arch2 to 4+ implants and a removable denture that snaps securely in place
All-on-X full arch$610 to $1,042 a month per arch4 to 6+ implants, temporary teeth on surgery day and fixed final teeth

Monthly estimates range from 48 months at 7.9% APR to 24 months at 0% APR, upon approved credit.

Every option starts with a free implant evaluation, including a 3D CBCT scan. Your final price depends on your mouth, which is why we give you a written quote after your scan.

What is included in the price?

A single implant has three parts, and our estimate covers all three.

The implant

A small titanium post placed in the jawbone. It acts like the root of a tooth.

The abutment

A connector that joins the implant to the new tooth.

The crown

The visible tooth, shaped and shaded to match your smile.

Your free implant evaluation and 3D CBCT scan are included too. The scan shows your bone in three dimensions, so the implant can be planned precisely. Extractions and bone grafts are priced separately when you need them, and both appear in your written quote.

Why do some offices advertise lower prices?

A lower headline price can be a good deal, but check what it includes before comparing.

  • Is the crown included? Some prices cover only the implant post.
  • Is it for new patients only? Some offers apply only to a first visit.
  • Is the 3D scan extra? Ours is included in your free implant evaluation.
  • Who places the implant? Training matters. Dr. Desai has postgraduate training in periodontics and oral implantology.
  • Is there a guarantee or warranty? Ask what happens if something goes wrong.

What can raise the cost?

Some patients need extra steps before or alongside the implant.

Extraction

If the damaged tooth is still in place, it needs to be removed first.

Socket preservation

A bone graft and a collagen membrane are placed in the extraction socket right away to minimize shrinkage of the jawbone. Every millimeter of bone preserved can allow the surgeon to use an appropriately sized implant, improving the long-term prognosis of your treatment.

Sinus lift

Upper back teeth sometimes need extra bone where the sinus sits low. There are indirect and direct ways to achieve this, either through the jawbone or through the sinus.

More teeth

Replacing several teeth changes the plan. Sometimes an implant bridge, snap-on or All-on-X is better value than many single implants. Our team will go over all the options that can suit your needs so you can make an informed decision about your treatment.

Your 3D scan shows which of these you need, so there are no surprises later. Read more in our guide to bone grafting for dental implants.

Does dental insurance help pay for implants?

Many PPO plans pay part of the cost of the crown or the implant, though coverage varies by plan. Yearly maximums and waiting periods can limit what a plan pays in one year.

We accept many PPO plans, including Aetna, MetLife, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Delta Dental, Laborers, Anthem Blue Cross and several other PPO plans. Call us and we'll check your benefits before treatment. See the full list on our Insurance page.

How do monthly payments work?

We offer financing through several third-party financing vendors. Checking your options doesn't involve a hard credit check. Plans run up to 60 months, with an APR from 0% to 35.99% based on approval. You need to be 18 or older with a bank-issued debit card.

Example only: a single implant works out to about $146 a month on a 0% plan over 24 months, or about $86 a month at 7.9% APR over 48 months. Your rate and term depend on approval.

We also accept HSA and FSA cards, credit and debit cards, and cash payment.

How does a single implant compare with a 3-unit bridge or a removable denture for a single tooth?

An implant costs about the same up front as a bridge, but it doesn't rely on neighboring teeth and can last for many years.
